How to achieve the happiness you want and ways to embrace change. Here are many ways you can find happiness in your life irrespective what is happening in your life. Read on to discover what they are and how you can make it a part of your daily life.
Getting happiness is one of the prime pursuits of each and every one of us, and this has been true down the ages. If you check out the scores of poems and songs about being happy, we will know how significant this human want is. The most advocated philosophy is that you should worry too much. This can be done by building optimism in life which is not only good for our mental being, but is also quite important for our physical health. Silent killers like cancers, strokes and seizures can be kept at bay to a large extent only if you stopped worrying too much.
Change is the only thing constant in life, and if you don’t change with changing circumstances, you will be deader than a dodo. We have the capacity to make changes; only we should take time out to think what we must become and then make the necessary transformations. Knowledge of changing circumstances and evolving accordingly is a very effective key to happiness in life.
Social Creatures
Human beings are social creatures. It is very important for you to maintain relations with a large number of people, both for personal as well as business reasons. But we must learn to accept people the way they are, and try not to contradict them too much. In case of altercations, it is good to take time out and think on both sides of the coin. That might avoid a lot of issues.
We all have the grain of happiness within ourselves, but we have to water and nurture it to bring it in its full bloom.
Happiness is A Choice
At the same time, it is also important to note that it is not too difficult to become happy if you want. Great philosophers like Mahatma Gandhi and Abraham Lincoln maintained that every one of us can control at every moment of our lives what emotions must rule us. We all have the choices in our hands. It is we who can attune ourselves to be as happy or as morose as we want to be.
Here are some of these philosophical ways in which you can search your own happiness:-
1. You must be thankful for the things you have around you – even the very small things. Like the store cashier who takes time out to wrap your purchases, or the waiter who serves you your food in a restaurant. Thank the church helper who takes time out to do small things around the place, or the newspaper boy who braves cold morning winds and delivers to your doorstep. Take time out and thank the drivers of the cabs you take and the staff that ushers you to your seat in a movie hall. Most importantly, thank Providence for having given you the privilege of living on the planet.
2. Try not to read the newspaper in the morning, because you will definitely happen to see some or the other depressing news that will put a dampener on your day. Skim through the headlines if you want to know what’s happening in the world, but do not make it a point of reading who did what crime on whom while sitting with your morning breakfast.
3. It is very important to have faith in religion. This is not about being fanatic about religion, but it is a way to understand and realize that there is someone Divine who is there for you all the time. The very belief of someone guarding over you is good enough to wipe many sorrows and insecurities away.
4. Learn how to manage your time well. It is not at all advisable to waste time for whatever reason. If you waste time, you will only be in work pressure later on, and that could snatch your happiness. Spend a good deal of time on thinking about how you will be managing and executing your works and also how you will enjoy the fruits of your labor. Learn to prioritize among the needs of your work. That will go a long way in keeping you happy and cheerful.
5. Learn to express your happiness. Laugh with people who make jokes. Share the good cheer with everyone. When you laugh, you remain happier.
6. Extend your love to other people. Show your friends and family how much you care. When you give love, you receive love. Even share your problems with people you trust. You will find them getting lighter with each person you find to share your woes.
7. Keep yourself busy all the time. An idle mind is a devil’s workshop. And the devil brings sorrow. On the other hand, if you keep yourself constructively busy, you will feel happy for having managed your work excellently. When you get your milestones in your work life, you will only become happier.
8. Also, you must keep learning. The education in your life must never cease. In the early days of life, you learn from your teachers and parents. In the later days of life, you learn from your children. Learning will also make new things possible for you.
9. Exercise. That helps you enjoy your body. That will make you happy.
10. Do not involve yourself with negative things of any sort. Keep away from places that are evil.
These are a few ways in which you can search your own happiness. You are the controller of your happiness, and it’s high time you began controlling it.
